Job Title: Part-time retail/ event assistant/ labourer

Salary: $14/hour
Hours: 15-20/ week
Closing Date: End of Day February 12, 2018

With our opening date right around the corner, we’re looking for an energetic, passionate and skilled individual to join the team. Crosscut Distillery is a locally owned, small business, producing and selling grain to glass spirits, located on Kelly Lake Road. Anyone who is interested in working part-time in areas of retail, labour and event assistance are welcome to apply. Preference will be given to those with post-secondary education and those with an advanced skill set beyond job responsibilities (photography, web design, mixology, sales, etc.)

Note: As a small business, everyone will be involved in both exciting and mundane tasks, regardless of primary responsibilities. This means that in addition to retail shift hours and assisting with events, this position may include slinging cocktails, unloading a truck of bagged grains, hauling boxes or cutting garnishes.

Job Responsibilities:
●  Retail shifts (regular evenings and weekends)
●  Communicating knowledge of products and merchandise in store
●  Ensuring that all products and displays are maintained and cleaned regularly

●  Operating the cash till efficiently, ensuring that all moneys received are correctly registered

●  Assisting with various events both at the distillery and offsite
●  Bottling, labelling and corking bottles

●  Cleaning the operational side, including shoveling and carrying of spent grains


●  Retail experience
●  Experience relevant to working in a distillery tasting room (justification
should be provided)
●  Can lift and carry 50lbs and above
●  Comfortable in social settings and engaging with the public


To work with us, the successful candidate must:

●  have and maintain a valid Ontario driver’s license (minimum G2);
●  have a clean criminal record ;
●  be able to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis;

●  have the willingness to travel (there may be some events that require regional travel);

●  have a Smart Serve Certificate;
●  have the ability to lift 25kg bags; and

●  own and know how to use work boots
